This article was written for a group of people who want to install a time card system on their computer. It is assumed that these people have at least a basic knowledge of computers and operating systems. I am writing this article as if it were an installation manual, as many people may not know how to do this themselves. I will provide images and screenshots where possible, as well as download links to the necessary files. It is suggested that you download the zktime 5.0 archive from zktime5-full_installer_4-8-5_release .zip and uncompress it before continuing with this tutorial, because it has all the required files in one place. What this tutorial is for: Installation of zktime 5.0 attendance manager system on Windows platforms with Microsoft Windows operating systems [Including XP/Vista/7] Installation of zktime 5.0 attendance manager system on GNU/Linux platforms [Including Fedora, SUSE, Ubuntu, Debian] Installation of a Web interface to the zktime 5.0 Attendance Manager System On Debian and Ubuntu systems, the user_downloads folder must be checked in your /etc/apt/sources.list file. Step 1: Hardware Requirements •1GHz Processor •256 MB RAM •QuickTime 6.5 or higher installed on the computer running zktime. QuickTime 7.0 or higher is recommended. •4GB of Free Hard Drive Space (Will all depend on your business needs) Step 2: Software Requirements ( Microsoft Windows Only ) •Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7 operating system (32-bit version is recommended; 64-bit versions are not supported, however, they may work.)  Windows Server 2003 and 2008 R2 are also supported and tested by ZKtime developers. •Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or higher Step 3: Software Installation First, you must download zktime 5.0 archive from zktime5-full_installer_4-8-5_release .zip and uncompress it in your preferred folder location. After the decompression you will see the following structure Now, open your "Start" menu and find the application named "Command Prompt", right click it and choose "Run As Administrator". A window like this should appear: After that, type in the following commands (with each line starting with a forward slash):  (Note that there are spaces before / after many of these commands. This is required to execute the commands correctly.) For this installation you will need to create 3 folders called "zktime", "zktime-configuration", and "zhd". These are the locations I provided for you. You can change them if you want. Note: You may also want to make a backup of your ZKTIME directory before proceeding. eccc085e13
